When the summer sun is long gone and it has been replaced with the cold winter weather, this does not mean that you have to stay indoors until spring has spring. There are plenty of activities and sports that you and the kids can do during the winter to help you stay fit and active. So, when the cold wind blows you shouldn’t turn on the TV and hunker down for the winter; instead, suit up in your warmest cloths and set out to enjoy a winter sport. Skiing – Skiing is one winter sport that is a great choice for families. Adults and children alike will enjoy hitting the slopes. Best yet, there are plenty of skill levels to choose from too so that you can find a course that suits the ability level of everyone in your family. Skiing is a great aerobic sport that will keep you fit and in shape during the winter and besides; who doesn’t like gliding down a snow covered hill?
Ice Skating – If you want a sport that you can do just for fun keep you active and in shape while also keeping the kids entertained then ice skating is the way to go. Check out your local area to find an ice skating rink in your area. If you are not sure, you can take a look online or at your local village or township. Ice skating is great for people of all ages and ability levels. You don’t have to be an expert ice skater to enjoy this winter sport. Get up and get moving this winter, you will be glad you did.
Snowboarding – Snowboarding is similar to skiing expect you don’t have skis on your fee you balance on a snowboard instead. Basically, you strap your feet into the snowboard and glide down slow covered hills and runs using your balance and coordination to keep you upright. Look for snowboarding gear such as jackets and pants to help you stay warm and prepared.
